NB Group is led by two partners who have built businesses as investors, advisors, and operators.
Neel is an experienced investor, operator, and advisor. Prior to NB Group, he was a member of the investment team at Berkshire Partners, a corporate development manager at The New York Times, a co-founder of Foodpanda India, and a management consultant at Bain & Company. He is also the founder of NB Advisory, an advisory and consulting firm working with growth stage technology businesses on corporate development, strategy, and finance.
At Berkshire Partners, a leading growth-oriented private equity fund, Neel evaluated new investments in the tech/telecom and consumer/retail industries. He also worked closely with the executive teams of several portfolio companies including retailers Aritzia and Party City, where he was a Board Observer. At the New York Times, Neel evaluated investments in ad tech, business intelligence, and mobile. At Bain, Neel advised clients across industries and worked with several large private equity funds on strategic diligence.
Neel is a graduate of the University of Michigan and Harvard Business School.
Ariez is an experienced investor, entrepreneur, and advisor. Prior to NB Group, he was a member of the investment team at Audax Group, the Corporate Development team at Yahoo!, a Co-Founder of Scout Finance (sold to a strategic acquirer in 2017), General Manager at Rocket Internet, and started his career as a consultant at McKinsey & Company.
As a Co-Founder at Scout Finance, an enterprise software company focused on the financial industry, Ariez helped lead product development, sales, and fundraising. At Audax Group, a leading middle market private equity fund, Ariez evaluated new investments and worked closely with portfolio companies, including Questex Media, a global business media and data company, and Andrews International, a provider of security services. At Yahoo!, Ariez was heavily involved in new investments and acquisitions globally in the Mobile and Online Media spaces. At McKinsey, Ariez worked with Fortune 500 CEOs in a variety of industries.
Ariez is a graduate of the University of Michigan, where he was elected Phi Beta Kappa.
Jonathan supports investment due diligence at NB Group. Previously he worked at Leavitt Equity Partners and ran a medical practice in rural North Carolina. He holds an MBA from the University of Michigan and B.S. from Brigham Young University.
Brad supports investment due diligence at NB Group. Previously he worked at BBR Partners, a multi-family office, and Credit Suisse. He is an MBA candidate at Columbia Business School and holds a BA from Vanderbilt University.
Thomas supports investment due diligence at NB Group. Previously he worked at The Raine Group, Galatioto Sports Partners, and HSBC Global Markets. He is an MBA candidate at Columbia Business School and holds a BS from Duke University.
Ben supports investment due diligence and business development at NB Group. Previously he worked at Beacon Tree Capital. He is graduate of the Business program at Boston University.

Mark has over 25 years of experience in the Retail industry. His leadership roles include serving as CFO of leading multi-unit brands including Jamba Juice, Red Mango, Del Taco, and Nasdaq-listed Coffee People Worldwide (then #2 to Starbucks).
In addition, he served as President of WSS, a multi-state specialty retailer, where he expanded the business outside its core Southern California market and transitioned it to an omni-channel approach, as well as serving as CF of EZ-Lube, a Goldman Sachs Private Equity backed chain of auto lube and oil change stores.
Mark holds a BBA and MBA from the University of Southern California.
John has spent his entire career in software and technology as a senior operating executive leading companies through a variety of situations. In the last 15 years, he has been CEO of 3 private equity-backed software companies and a senior executive at two other companies. John has been a board member of 6 software and technology companies in the last decade.
John was formerly CEO of Computron Software, a leading vendor of enterprise scale accounting software, which eventually sold to Aptean, a Vista Equity Partners portfolio company. John was also CEO of Daptiv Software, an early entrant into the SaaS-based project and portfolio management software market with operations in the US, Europe, and Australia. In 2014, Daptiv was successfully sold to Changepoint Corp.
John has a B.A. in Economics from Cornell University.
Jason is an executive at Global Experience Specialists ("GES"), one of the largest global businesses in the tradeshow and events market. He serves as EVP International, leading GES' business outside of North America. He also leads corporate development initiatives and M&A in the EMEA region, alongside GES’ President and CFO.
With 25 years of international business experience, Jason brings hands-on knowledge of the global marketplace to his role at GES. Jason began his career at Royal Dutch / Shell where he was responsible for Shell’s market entries into the Hungarian and Spanish energy markets. He also spent almost four years in strategy consulting, advising senior management of both blue chip companies and private equity.
Jason earned his MBA from Harvard Business School and a BBA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Richard has had a successful 34-year career in the telecommunications industry. In addition to his role as Operating Executive at NB Group, he is President of Eclipse, a technology consulting firm based in Chicago.
From 2006 to 2014, Richard was CEO of Business Only Broadband (BOB), a business he launched after successfully negotiating and executing the purchase of the wireless network assets of Convergence Technologies. BOB grew to be the largest fixed wireless broadband provider in Chicago, New York, and New Jersey before a successful sale to Windstream.
Prior to BOB, Rich was President & COO of Burst Wireless/Monet Mobile Networks, a venture-backed mobile 3G data service, Divisional President at Nextlink Communications responsible for the $200M revenue Midwest market, and VP at American Communications Services.
He began his career in sales with TMC, Sprint, Metropolitan Fiber Systems, and TCG.
Douglas Meyer is a senior executive who has held leadership roles at various consumer packaged goods companies for almost 40 years. He has deep experience in natural products, including those for personal care and household cleaning, and has worked in private equity operating roles for nearly two decades.
As CEO of Burt’s Bees, Doug grew the brand from $20M to over $120M in revenue through strategic marketing and distribution initiatives. Most recently, Doug served as CEO of Agaia Home Products, a manufacturer of patented natural household products.
Doug began his career at Colgate-Palmolive, Inc. and over the years rose to the level VP and general manager. He has also served as President of Sterling Health, responsible for the growth of Bayer Aspirin and other brands, and President USA for Benckiser, now one of the world’s largest household products manufacturer.
Alan has 30 years of operational expertise combined with corporate finance, business development and corporate governance experience. Alan currently serves as Managing Partner of Broadband Initiatives, LLC, a boutique corporate advisory and consulting firm. Alan has served as a Director or Chairman in 22 different companies in the last 15 years in a variety of industries including telecom and wireless, software, and IT Services among others.
Previously, Alan served as VP of Strategic and Wireless Business Development for Covad Communications, a national broadband telecommunications company. Alan was responsible for implementing Covad's next generation technology alternatives including wireless broadband, IPTV, and targeted advertising. Prior to Covad, Alan was CFO of Teletrac, Inc. He joined Teletrac from Sprint, where he worked in Corporate Development and was one of the initial team members who helped start Sprint PCS.
Alan holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Illinois and an MBA from the Indiana University Kelley Graduate School of Business.
Alex DeAraujo has years of experience working with private equity-backed companies on a range of operational issues. Currently he is an Operating Director at ACON Investments, where he works directly with portfolio companies. Prior to ACON, he was an Operating Partner / Principal with Investcorp, a leading private equity firm focused on investments in consumer products, retail, and business services industries. Previously, Alex was an Operating Executive with Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe for 5 years. Prior to that, Alex was a Principal at Bain & Co., where he focused on PE diligence, merger integration, growth, and performance improvement. Prior to his MBA, Alex worked for 5 years at General Electric in manufacturing management, corporate audit, and M&A roles.
Alex has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Nick Hammerschlag is the President of Entangled Ventures, an education technology studio, and Managing Partner of Martellus Holdings. He was previously on the investment team at General Atlantic andOpenView Venture Partners, where he was a Partner, focused on investments in the Internet, Technology, and Education sectors.
Outside of the office, Nick supports the MARSOC Foundation and is a member of the Weill Cornell Children's Health Council. He graduated from Columbia with a degree in History.
Jesse Pujji is the Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer at Ampush. Prior to Ampush, Jesse was an investment professional at Goldman Sachs. In that role, he made investments in public and private companies in the auto, education, and new media industries. Before Goldman, Jesse worked as a consultant at McKinsey & Co. focusing on the Digital Media, eCommerce, and Telecom industries.
Jesse graduated from The University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School with a dual concentration in Finance and Entrepreneurship, and a second degree in Political Science.
